The Kensington sofa is a leather humpback sofa, unmistakable with its distinctive double humpback. The camel back sofa, an 18th century style, continues to be beloved equally today as it once was. The classic and refined piece, named for its graceful arch back, originated with Thomas Chippendale, and remained in vogue from the 18th century to the mid-19th century.
Firstly comprised of a handmade solid beech frame. Traditionally upholstered with a hessian seat and had sewn individual coil springs. Furthermore the entire seat, back and arms have been buttoned by hand in our workshops to ensure maximum style. Lastly, upholstered by hand in a brown leather hide, a gorgeous and unquestionably rich and sumptuous leather for a traditional humpback sofa. Finished, with nailing around the straight of the sofa, all done one at a time, by hand.
To conclude, we think this piece encapsulates style and sophistication from every angle.
