Thomas Hope style mahogany & gilded pedestal desk

An attractive mahogany pedestal desk inspired by an early 19th-century design by the renowned designer Thomas Hope. The top features a mahogany perimeter with a finely carved edge, complemented by an inset hand-tooled leather writing surface, providing both durability and a refined workspace. Above the writing surface, the desk offers two short drawers and one long drawer for convenient storage.

Each pedestal is equipped with graduated drawers, with the lower two drawers in the right-hand pedestal combining to form a file drawer for efficient document organization. The opposite side of the desk is fully finished, though it remains without handles as per standard. The flame mahogany veneer is enhanced with subtle ebonised lines on all four sides, while rounded corners contribute to its balanced design, making it an ideal piece for placement in a central room.

The desk’s carved top edge and plinth are highlighted with black leather and gilded accents, adding a touch of refinement to the overall design.
