This Mahogany Wall Mirror, water gilded in white gold leaf, is a magnificent piece inspired by an original antique. The design was drawn from archival photographic plates from Biggs of Maidenhead, a family-run business with a rich history.

Hand-carved from mahogany, the frame is finished with a bespoke water gilding technique using 13-carat white gold leaf. The painted areas are then waxed to add depth and tone, enhancing the mirror’s overall elegance.

The frame features beautifully detailed C-scrolls and trailing foliage that gracefully frame the mirror. At the base, a carved swan nestles, while the top is adorned with a delicate rose and acanthus leaves, capturing the intricate artistry of the period.
