The Empire style, introduced during Napoleon’s rule in the First French Empire, is known for its bold design elements. Craftsmen often incorporated details such as columns with rope-twist carvings, animal-paw feet, anthemion motifs, stars, and acanthus-leaf ornamentation, often complemented with gilding.

This coffee table is supported by four column legs, with both the top and bottom veneered in rich burr oak.
