The Twyford is a transitional take on a traditional drop arm knole sofa, although keeping in line with traditional function, it can still be dropped at the arm like a traditional knole, using the complimenting hand made tie backs to secure it in to either position.
In order to ensure timeless quality, a hand carved and polished ebony leg, sits on antique style castors that are dowelled, screwed and glued in to a beech frame. A jute and hessian seat, with hand sewn coil springs, furthermore give support for the fusion fibre seats and fibre back cushions, a comfortable cushion that holds it shape.
Upholstered by hand in the Wemyss, Shoyi range, a stunning printed chenille with a chunky natural texture. This collection is made up of four unique designs and a complimentary plain, available in five colourways.
Shoyi is inspired by the Indonesian dying technique Ikat. This creates bold, eye-catching patterns and is recognisable by its distinctive feathering edges.
We take pride in building and designing pieces like the Twyford in our workshops for over 50 years, continuing to reinforce our commitment to the artistry and craftsmanship of traditional English upholstery.
