The regency knole sofa is a traditional sofa, that includes the original styling of drop arms, carved wooden finials and handmade tie backs. Designed to keep a draft out when placed in front of a fire, these are traditional aspects of a knole sofa. On the other hand, lowering the arms, helped to keep cooler.
The sofa is traditionally handmade, starting with a coil sprung seat unit and front edge, above a solid beech frame. Secondly, the jute and hessian are attached to the frame to gives support for, sewn by hand, spring coils. Filled with 100% duck feather to only further in enhance comfort and style. The legs and finials, hand carved and polished in our workshops in England, ensuring the craftsmanship of this piece stand the test of time.
