Thomas Hope style mahogany & ebonised pedestal desk

An attractive mahogany pedestal desk, inspired by an early 19th-century design by the influential designer Thomas Hope. The top is framed with a mahogany perimeter, featuring a finely carved edge and an inset hand-tooled leather writing surface, offering both functionality and a distinguished appearance. Above the writing surface, the desk includes two short drawers and one long drawer, providing ample storage options.

Each pedestal is fitted with graduated drawers, with the lower two drawers on the right-hand pedestal combined to form a filing drawer for organized document storage. The opposite side is fully finished, maintaining the desk's refined appearance, though it is designed without handles as standard. The combination of flame mahogany veneer and understated ebonised lines on all four sides, along with rounded corners, enhances the piece’s presence, making it particularly suitable for a central room placement.

The desk features dark tan leather on the top surface, with ebonised highlights accentuating the carved top edge and plinth, adding further visual interest and refinement.
